Visit of PD Dr Pierre Meyer and PD Dr Attila Major

Within the framework of a collaborative project between the St. Petersburg City Clinical Oncology Hospital and the Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research, WHO Collaborating Centre in Education and Research in Human Reproduction, Dr. Pierre Meyer and Dr. Attila Major, members of the Foundation, visited this Hospital for a meeting on the organization of a training programme in oncologic laparoscopic surgery.
They have been kindly welcomed by Dr. Manikhas, Director of the Hospital, Dr. Fridman, Head of the Department of Surgery, Dr. Lisyanskaya, Head of the Department of Gynecological Oncology, Dr Halikov, Head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care and Dr. Bondarev, Vice-Head of the Department of Gynecological Oncology and Fellow of the Geneva Training in Research in Reproductive Health.
During this visit, Dr. Meyer and Dr. Major performed two major laparoscopic interventions for teaching purposes.
It has been decided to organize one week training course in oncologic laparoscopic surgery at the St. Petersburg City Clinical Oncology Hospital that will take place in February and June 2006.
