Metodologia epidemiologica

This course is part of the Master in Economy and Health and Socio-Health Management (Net-MEGS). The Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research is organising the Course in Epidemiology and Public Health in December 2005.

Goals

Students will learn how to study, calculate and interpret the main measurements of events occurrence in a determined population. The basis, advantages and disadvantages of the main study designs will be studied to compare the groups i.e. cohort studies, case-control studies and randomized trials.

Methods

Lectures and discussion of specific problems.

Target audience, admission

The course is aimed at persons responsible of the management of health and socio-health services (doctors, psychologists, jurists, health and social operators), personnel of public administration in general, managers of private hospitals, persons having a political activity at cantonal or communal level.
