My name is Cristián Jesam Gaete. I was born in 1978 in Santiago, Chile. I was graduated at the Medicine Faculty at Los Andes University in 2003, the first private Medicine Faculty in Chile. Then I started the Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chile, West Campus, San Juan de Dios public hospital until 2006.

On 2006 on my second year of the residency I entered to ICMER (Chilean Institute of Reproductive Medicine) www.icmer.org, a non-profit organization, charitable organization that works to establish a better knowledge and understanding of factors that influence sexual and reproductive health, human reproduction and maternal-child health and to apply that knowledge to improve people’s health, rights and welfare. One of the most important activities of ICMER is to collaborate with numerous national or international committees of public and private organizations on clinical research projects related to reproductive health. Here I started my clinical research career and in recent years team members and I start to investigate the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory as a potential use in contraception that recently ends in a publication; now I continue with this line of investigation.

ICMER also operates as a clinic where we offered services like family planning, ante and postnatal care, ultrasounds and infertility serving the general population of Santiago; here I play an active role in this capacity.

Continuing my training, last year I started a two year Residency in Infertility and Reproductive Medicine at the Institute for the Mother and Child Research (IDIMI) University of Chile that will ends on September; one of the most popular programs in Latin America into which only one Chilean and one international student are accepted each year (http://idimi.cl/), please if you need more information or you want to collaborate with us, contact me.
