George holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology & Biostatistics degree from Harvard University (Harvard School of Public Health) Boston, Massachusetts; and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Dar es salaam ( Muhimbili University College of Health Sciences), Tanzania. George is certified in Public Health (CPH) by the National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE), USA. He was National Institute of Health (NIH)/Fogarty International Clinical Research Scholars in 2008 at Muhimbili Univerisity of Health and Allied Sciences. During his scholarship he also worked as Part-time Facilitator at University of Dar es salaam (UDSM) Faculty of Informatics and Virtual Education. He facilitated a course of principles and methods of epidemiology (UDSM-HIS 603),The coursed administered by Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics School of Public Health and Social Sciences- Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Studies.

Previously; George worked as Research Physician at Kilimanjaro Reproductive Health Programme, a collaborative effort between Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center and Harvard School of Public Health in Moshi, Tanzania. The Programme gave him exposure and experience in conducting high quality observational studies as well as multi-country clinical trials to prevent HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections. Prior to that George worked as a Medical Officer at Muhimbili National Hospital, the nation teaching and reference hospital in Dar es salaam, Tanzania. Currently George is working at African Population & Health Research Center an International organization with mandate of doing policy relevant research in sub-Saharan Africa. His research interests include HIV/AIDS epidemiology, Reproductive health and Health system strengthening.
