I am Raqibat Olabopo Idris. I graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1991 and also hold a Diploma in Ophthalmology from The West African Postgraduate College of Surgeons and a University of Washington Conjoint 553 certificate in the Clinical Management of HIV.
I became involved in HIV/AIDS management in 2009 in Namibia where I worked in an ARV clinic. Among other aspects of HIV management, I was involved with the prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV as well as the management of sexually transmitted diseases in HIV infected and non HIV infected clients. I participated in a WHO Drug Resistance Survey that was undertaken at the clinic in 2009/2010.
This course will enable me build my capacity in the field of research in general and reproductive health in particular which I am keen to explore.
