Dr Léopold Ouédraogo has been reassigned to WHO/AFRO since February 2013, for Research and Programme Development in Reproductive Health, after six years as a National Professional Officer (NPO) for the Making Pregnancy Safer programme in WHO - Burkina Faso.

Before that, Dr Léopold Ouédraogo worked for the Ministry of Health in Burkina Faso ten years ago, with substantial responsibilities throughout the different levels of the health system - from the district to the national hospital.

He is an obstetrician-gynecologist with a university diploma in Epidemiology, Fetal Medicine and Laparotomy; he has eighteen years’ experience in Reproductive Health and Health Systems Strengthening, including monitoring and evaluation interventions and collaborative work with research institutions.

He is very interested in updating and improving his knowledge and competencies in Sexual and Reproductive Health Research, and is hopeful this course will be a good opportunity for this.
