Dr. Maryam Alaradi is a recent graduate of a PhD in nursing program from University of Louisville School of Nursing. She received her master degree from University of Pennsylvania in the neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP) track in 2006. She got certified as an NNP in 2014. Dr. Alaradi worked as a staff nurse in medical units and as a midwife in Labor& Delivery, antenatal and postnatal wards for six years. She then worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as a nurse supervisor and then as a neonatal nurse educator for 10 years. Dr. Alaradi is passionate about the care of preterm infants and the psychological responses of the parents in the NICU. This passion resulted into the dissertation entitled “predictors of uncertainty, stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms of parents of preterm infants in the NICU”. Dr. Alaradi presented a number of posters and oral presentations in national and international conferences and is working on manuscripts for publications. She currently, resides in Bahrain and serves as a lecturer in Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland School of Nursing and Midwifery.
