Timothy Nathaniel Yakubu is a registered Medical Laboratory Scientist, licensed by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria. He is a public health biomedical scientist with professional competency and experience in Medical Laboratory Services related to HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria programming; Health Systems Strengthening; Supply Chain Management System; and Clinical Laboratory Systems Strengthening involving the implementation of quality management systems towards achieving ISO 15189 accreditation, especially in resource limited settings. Timothy have demonstrated competencies in project management and coordination, facilitating capacity building and mentoring of health professionals and community stakeholders, community mobilization, and have provided technical leadership in provision of High Quality Medical laboratory and Molecular Diagnostics, implementation of Quality Management Systems to strengthen Clinical Laboratory Systems and Supply Chain Management System and in conduct of operational research.

He is currently the Technical Officer Laboratory Quality Improvement & Special Project, overseeing the CDC funded HIV Rapid Testing Quality Improvement Initiative (RTQII) Project and had worked as a Technical Officer Laboratory Services for FHI 360 in Kano State, Nigeria, providing technical support in the implementation of comprehensive high quality laboratory services to support HIV/AIDS and TB care and treatment program, implementation of quality management systems to strengthen Clinical Laboratory and Supply Chain Management systems towards achieving WHO/AFRO recognition and ISO 15189 accreditation, in the Strengthening Integrated Delivery of HIV/AIDS Services (SIDHAS) project, a PEPFER funded project through USAID. Before joining FHI 360, Timothy has worked as a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist with Kaduna State Ministry of Health where he provided high quality comprehensive ART Laboratory Services at Dr Gwamna Awan General Hospital, Kakuri, and Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital Kaduna, been supported by International Centre for AIDS Care and Treatment Program (ICAP), Columbia University and as a Volunteer Laboratory Advisor and Program Officer to The Youth Challenge (a Kaduna based NGO).

Timothy holds a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences degree in Chemical Pathology from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma; Master of Arts (MA) in Organizational Management and Leadership, from Development Associate International (DAI) USA/ECWA Theological Seminary Igbaja, Nigeria; and recently completed a Master of Science in Molecular Biology at Staffordshire University UK. He is proficient in both oral and written English and Hausa Languages.
