My name is Catherine Kamau Amani from Kenya. My friends call me Cate. I am a wife, a mother, a nurse, a volunteer, a counselor and a community health officer. My friends say I can take up any role depending on the current need. (I agree most of the times). I love people and would go out my way to help but am biased where women and children are concerned. (No offence to the men. It is no surprise that I applied to do this course!)

I love reading and I believe learning is forever continuing; I am currently pursuing MPH via online. I am a registered nurse by training having undergone four and a half years of training and a further two years for community health.

I am a member of nursing association, red cross society and community health (public health) association.

I have worked in several capacities in both the public and private sector as a nurse, something I love. I am currently coordinating a WHO multi country survey that seeks to look at morbidity caused by abortion complications at the facility level in Kenya.
