I am a medical doctor by profession, trained at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology School of Medical Science, Kumasi, Ghana. I worked for 3 years in rural Ghana after housemanship for most part as the only medical doctor at the maternity unit. During that period, my interest in preventive medicine generated as most of the complications encountered could have been avoided had the patients had access to proper preventive care, hence I joined Marie Stopes Ghana. Working on outreach to offer the underserved/underprivileged access to free family planning services, mainly Long Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARC), male and female sterilization methods has given me the opportunity to live the vision of contributing to eliminate pregnancy-related complications due to unplanned and unwanted pregnancies especially amongst the poor in 9 out of the 10 regions on the country.

I have successfully provided over 2000 tubal ligations and over a 100 vasectomies to clients from different parts of the country.

By virtue of my position in my organization, I am responsible for the clinical quality of the range of SRH services we offer including safe abortion care across our clinics and on outreach.

I am a certified master trainer for Marie Stopes International (Global) and as such offer training of trainers and beginners clinical training workshops in tubal ligation, vasectomy, safe abortion care and LARC across the global partnership and have also partnered the Ghana MoH to training several service providers.

I have contributed to the development of SRH training manuals for my organization and also was a member of a panel of experts tasked to review the national family planning protocols for Ghana in 2015.

I have focused interest in working with the youth and men’s involvement in SRH.
