I am Kinley Dorjee, born and brought up in the Kingdom of Bhutan and presently serving as assistant research officer with the Health Management and Information Unit (HMIS) under the Ministry of Health, Kingdom of Bhutan. I studied in Ugyen Academy, a higher secondary school in Bhutan and graduated with bio- science background. Then I continued my undergraduate studies in Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Development at College of Natural Resources (CNR). Apart from management and environmental modules, public health and sociology were also completed with case studies on health service provision at basic health units, which are unpublished. After graduation, I served Jigme Khesar Strict Nature Reserve (JKSNR) in Bhutan as an intern. I completed my Royal Civil Service Examination, the highest entry exam to join civil service in Bhutan, and secured 25th position in public administration category, enabling me to pursue my Post Graduate Diploma (PGDPA) in Royal Institute of Management, Bhutan.

As a researcher under the ministry of health, apart from doing research on priority health issues, I am also mandated to monitor timely submission and reporting of health related data. HMIS unit also assists Planning and Policy Division in making evidence based decision making and developing targeted and programmatic interventions at sectorial level.

While in school, I served as school counselor during the academic year 2009 and 2010. I am also a secretariat member of the research ethical and board of health.
