I studied for my first degree in nutrition and food science at the University of Ghana, Legon, following which I obtained my Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, also in Ghana. After four years of work as a medical office, I went to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem where I studied for my master’s degree in public health with concentration in epidemiology. I have since completed my medical residency with specialization as public health physician. I also have a certificate in global health from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark via online study. I currently work as a district director of health service in the Ghana Health Service and also see patients at the district hospital. As a district director, I oversee implementation of health policy at the district. I oversee the team responsible for diseases surveillance, outbreak investigation and intervention. My office is also responsible for implementation of the expanded programme on Immunization and child growth monitoring and promotion.

My other engagements in the service include being a trainer in the following areas: Active Management of the Third Stage of labour (AMTSL), in and outpatient management of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) as part of the Community-based Management of Severe Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) programme, Infant and Young Child Nutrition (IYCN), Quality of Care and Patient Safety, Integrated Management of Neonatal, Infant and Childhood illnesses (IMNCI) and Emergency Triage, Assessment and Treatment (ETAT) of paediatric illnesses.
