I graduated from the University of Ghana with Nursing and Psychology in the year 2000, and sat for the Nursing Professional Licensure exams in August 2001, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana in January, 2002. My training and working as a General Nurse has seen me work at both the Medical and surgical units and the general OPD where I attended to clients with diverse need for healthcare services. It also afforded me the opportunity to lead other nurses and students as In-charge and impact their work through teaching and supervision.

I pursued Postgraduate degree; Master of Public Health at the University of Ghana Legon in 2006/2007 Academic Year. Upon completion, I worked as the head of Public health unit, providing care to pregnant women; mothers and children at Child welfare, Antenatal, and postnatal clinics. I also attended to clients with diseases of public health importance such as HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis. Other activities that I have been involved with in the past are school health and community outreach services. My interest for Preventive health emanated from the loss of a friend’s mother to cervical cancer during the undergraduate period hence my project work to assess the knowledge and perception of female university students on the disease.

I work with other team members at the Health Directorate of the NCHS in achieving the Overall goals as stated in the Programme of Work (outputs and outcomes in Community and Institutional C care unit). Furthermore, I support data collection, analysis and interpretation in collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation for service delivery. I also use data to identify training needs of the NCHS health facilities leading to improvement in service delivery outcomes. In addition, I Coordinate communication between directorate and institutional team leaders, write reports and engage key stakeholders/resource persons in the area of health care for the NCHS, Plan and manage training Programmes, participate in annual planning and review meetings.

I have been trained as a Quality Improvement Coach. I also have Certificates in leadership, facilitation, monitoring and evaluation, and others such as postpartum family planning, HIV Counseling and Testing/PMTCT and a trained focal person for people living with HIV/AIDS.
