Pap smear camp in Tonshinggang village, Bhutan
This picture was taken on 6th May 2015 during the Pap smear camp specially conducted to cover the unreached population. Tonshinggang Village is under the Phuntenchu Block, Tsirang district, in south central Bhutan. The road goes like this: ‘walk down the hill…along the river bank…then climb up the hill…to reach the Outreach Clinic (ORC) in the village. To return to Basic Health Unit (BHU), just reverse it. It took almost six hours in the hot scorching sun at a snail’s pace with a walking staff in one hand and an umbrella in other. I carried a small backpack with juices and water bottles. I, Ms. Yeshey Zangmo, am the In-charge of the Community Health Unit of Damphu General Hospital, Tsirang, Bhutan.
