Goal of the Project
The goal /mission of the project is to improve the quality of life with
special emphasis on reproductive health of rural women & children so that
maternal , neonatal and infant mortality could be substantially reduced.
Ultimate aim is to develop a sustainable health care program through the
active participation of community people.
Specific Objectives
-
To ensure safe delivery of
the mothers with the help of Trained Traditional Birth Attendants(TTBAs)
-
To increase the frequencies
of antenatal check ups of the pregnant mothers & postnatal visits
-
Ensuring maximum coverage
of children by immunization. against six killer diseases
-
Delivery of quality Essential
Service Package(ESP) services for the beneficiaries
-
Promotion, Protection and
support to exclusive breast feeding up to 6 months and then up to 2
years with complementary feeds
-
To educate beneficiaries
about appropriate food with nutritional needs for pregnant and lactating
mothers as well as children
-
To develop an effective health
education and advocacy for behaviour change and development

To motivate women to mobilize
local resources and organise Mother’s club (cooperative group of mother’s)
in their villages

To ensure community participation
through Mother’s club and formation of health committees on para/village
wise

To promote participation
of community at all stages of project development
Project implementation strategy
-
Delivery of Essential Services
Package(ESP) by trained Paramedic through the Static clinic and Satellite
clinics
-
Identification and check
up of maximum number of pregnant mothers , Tetanus .Toxoide (T,T). immunization,
conduction of normal home deliveries, PNC, referral of high risk mothers
to improved facilities. with the help of TBAa
-
Mobilization of children
for immunization and awareness building for other preventive diseases
with the help of TBAa
-
Formation of Mothers clubs
with women having no land and marginal land holdings for their social
and economic development. Their economic & social empowerment will obviously
bring changes in their economic condition including health
-
Formation of Village/Para
health committees and mobilizing the existing local self-help organizations
in order to utilize their services and involve them in the project development
activities and behaviour changes

Liaison with Govt. health
personnel ,other NGOs & local health providers for effective implementation
of the programme
Project Components
The project has Clinic & outreach services.
The Clinical services include :

Antenatal and Postnatal Care,
T.T. immunization to pregnant mothers as well to non pregnant women
from 15-49 years, Immunization to children (0-1 year age)

General treatment of women
& children and Health education to Mothers(15-49 years of age)
The outreach services include :
Health and nutrition education to School children , Antenatal & Postnatal
Care, Conduction of normal deliveries at home by TTBAs,, Referral of high
risk mothers to nearby hospitals/clinics equipped with better facilities,
Formation & strengthening of Mother’s club with landless and marginal land
holding families of the community to act as focal point of outreach activities.
Formation & strengthening of para/village based health committees to identify
and solve local health problems by the people themselves and ensure maximum
community participation for the betterment of health.
