My name is Sofia, I was born in 1971 in Kabul, I graduated from Kabul medical university 1995 with a master degree in general medicine, and later on I joined to the Obstetrics and Gynecology specialty program in Malalai maternity hospital, I specialized in OB-GYN after 4 years training program. Upon graduation I employed as an OB-GYN Specialist trainer in the same hospital which is the biggest maternity hospital in all over the country.
In 2006 I joined to CURE International hospital post graduate OB_GYN fellowship program, after one year course, I selected as a trainer for this program and became a full time employee in CURE International hospital. I selected as head of OB_GYN department of the same hospital in 2008. My main responsibilities in CURE are leading of the department, providing of OB-GYN service for the patients, training of OB_GYN fellows and family practice residents, providing care for Obstetric fistula patients and training of Afghan surgeons in Obstetric fistula, and leading of birth trauma project in CURE International hospital.
