Mahdi Mohamud Sahal was born on June 6, 1985. He graduated from Galkayo Institute of Health Science, Somalia in 2009 with Diploma of General Nursing. At the end of 2010, Mahdi started Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS 2010-2016) at Dow University of Health Science in Pakistan.

Mahdi graduated from GFMER batch 2015, and done a research proposal on HIV/AIDS in Somalia.

He is the Founder of SOPACARE, and he is a Researcher at DIMC where he also studied a scientific research course.

Mahdi is writer of two books titled as (Devalued Healthcare in Somalia, and Now, it is your time.)

Mahdi worked with MDO and doctors without borders (MSF) as a senior Nurse in between 2005-2010, where he become the chairman of employees, and also practiced JPMC as a medical student.

Mahdi is willing to pursue Pediatric Neurosurgery.

Mahdi has successfully researched these below research titles:

  • The prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Hodan village in Mogadishu-Somalia in 2015 with (GFMER),
  • Frequency of self-medication and drug abuse in general public in 2014 with (DUHS.)
