Dr. Shankar Dattatreya was born on 14 December 1986. He was graduated from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (R.G.U.H.S), Bengaluru, Karnataka with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S) in 2010. Presently he is working as Medical Officer of A.R.T Centre, District Hospital, Tumkur, Karnataka, India from 24-12-2010 and serving in the challenging field of HIV/AIDS.

He has done Fellowship in HIV Medicine (F.H.M) from Christian Medical College (C.M.C) Vellore, Tamil Nadu in March 2012. His research study on HIV-TB co-infection submitted for F.H.M got Dr. Seline Kaimalet and Dr. Anilkumar Kalia Award for the most distinguished project in F.H.M-2011-12.

He has also successfully completed The Union South East Asian Operational Research Course -2013 from the Union-MSF-WHO-SORT-IT at Kathmandu, Nepal.

He was selected from Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society (K.S.A.P.S) for Post Graduate Diploma in HIV Medicine (P.G.D.H.I.V.M) from National AIDS Control Organization (N.A.C.O), Department of AIDS Control, Ministry of Health and Family welfare, Govt. of India and recently completed at School of Tropical Medicine (S.T.M.), Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

As a moral responsibility, he has been serving as a Resource Person to create HIV/AIDS awareness among youths and has been sensitizing college students in Red Ribbon Club (R.R.C) meetings, general public in Worlds AIDS Day functions, Trans Genders and Commercial Sex Workers in Targeted Intervention Programs.
