Agbai Dimgba, MD
Medical Officer, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Scarborough General Hospital, Tobago
Formerly, President and Medical Director, Childcareafrika Ogbor- Hill, Aba (an NGO for Medical Outreach for Children)
I have just completed a Diploma in Reproductive Health in Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. I am working towards starting a center for Sexual and Reproductive Health Research in Tobago, West Indies.
I am interested in unintended pregnancies in general and teenage pregnancies in particular. I believe that though family planning and contraceptive services are generally available, information and quality of these services can be improved upon. I am also passionate in seeing men play more active roles in family planning and presently raising awareness on vasectomy as an alternative sterilization method that can narrow the gender gap in contraception and sexual and reproductive health. My (unpublished) diploma project was on “Exploring Ways of Increasing Acceptance and Use of Vasectomy in Developing Countries and Implications for Trinidad and Tobago”.
