Mohammad Basir Farid was born in 1970 in Afghanistan. He has completed primary, secondary and high school in Balkh province, north of Afghanistan. He graduated from Balkh medical college in 1994. Soon after graduation I have joined Surgery department Mazar 200 beds hospital. After eight years work in 2002 due to interest to public health, I have changed my carrier field into public health.
In this field I have worked with different international organizations like ICRC, Merlin and Jhpiego (an affiliate of John Hopkins University) in Afghanistan. Within these positions direct and indirect I was involved in maternal and child health. For example in 2004, 2005 and 2006 I was leading three household surveys in Takhar province. The main objectives of these surveys were to know knowledge of families about ANC, PNC, Family planning, newborn care.
Also I was involved in development and implementation of quality assurance standards for maternal and child health in primary healthcare of Afghanistan.
After obtaining this useful course I want to update my knowledge about sexual and reproductive health and have more technical contribution with health ministry.
