I’m a 23-year-old Nigerian-born and trained medical doctor. I had my undergraduate medical education at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife and my internship at a Federal Medical Center in Owo, Ondo State.
I have a great passion for Sexual and Reproductive Health and have been involved related issues since my second year in medical school. I volunteered for 5 years as a Peer Health Educator with a campus based organization with a focus on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Campus Health and Rights Initiative (CHRI) where I served in various executive capacities. At CHRI, I was involved in conducting outreaches, seminars, VCTs, one-on-one and group counselling sessions. Of particular highlight is the bi-annual Campus Health Forum, I was involved in one capacity or the other in 8 forums with varied themes such as “Love or Genotype”, “Abortion, to be legalized or not”, “let’s talk about sex” and so on.
I currently work at the Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH) Ibadan as a volunteer medical officer (while awaiting the one-year national youth service posting).
I nurse a strong passion to make my country one in which every citizen is able to have a safe and satisfactory sexual life. Someday, I would love to be at the helm of policy development on sexual and reproductive health and rights issues in Nigeria and yonder.
