I was born on 4th April, 1965 at Goso village of Ngumatti district, a Monguno local government area, Borno State Nigeria. I graduated at University of Maiduguri with a Bachelor of Science B.Sc (Political Science and Administration) and Master’s Degree (M.Sc) in International Relations at the School of Post Graduate studies with the same university, the University of Maiduguri in 2002 and 2005 respectively. I have an additional Master’s Degree in Management Development with specialization in rural development and HIV-AIDS from the Wageningen University and Research (Van Hall Larestain), The Netherlands.

I have received numerous training in management and administration, both short courses and long term training at Ramat Polytechnic and Borno College of Legal / Islamic Studies among others in relevant areas to my specialization. I speak three languages.

Career path

I started my professional career as a Public servant in the capacity of an Agricultural Extension Agent after obtaining training at Farm Training Centre, Damaturu. I worked with the Borno State Accelerated Development Area Programme which later became the Borno State Agricultural Development Programme, a World Bank Sponsored project.

I have also served as an HIV-AIDS Focal Person (HIV-AIDS Desk Officer and HIV-AIDS Coordinator) with Borno Sate Agricultural Development Programme, from 2011 to 2016. I participated in several enlightenment campaigns / advocacy on HIV-AIDS and other related activities to farmers on their farms, clubs and associations, students on industrial attachment programmes, monthly technology review meetings (MTRM), fortnight trainings (FNT), in-house training and workshops/ seminars among others.

Due to my outstanding performance in the field, I was sponsored to pursue academic studies at various levels. With successful completion of the courses, my cadre was changed to Assistant Executive Officer (AEO), Administrative line and rose through the ranks to become Director of Administration and Supplies.
