I was born in 1979 in Maputo, Mozambique. I attended medical school at the Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique, and graduated in 2007. Since then my professional career has been both clinical and Public health related, having worked in the beginning as a General Physician at the Emergency Unit of a general hospital and later on at Primary Health Care units, specifically in chronic disease consultation. Since 2010 I started to assume more programmatic and strategic positions for Primary Health Care Management, first as Responsible for the Public Health Department at the Maputo City Health Directorate, and then as Director of Health and Social Welfare at the Maputo City Council. In 2014 I started working with Médecins Sans Frontières in Maputo, as Deputy Medical Coordinator, with the main task of providing direct support to the projects, one of which is a Community based SRH project that was opened early this year in the districts of Morrumbala and Derre, in Zambezia Province, the second most populated province of the country. This project is aimed to address gaps related to family planning, access to mother and child health services, and also identify and manage causes related to maternal and neonatal mortality.

I speak two languages (Portuguese and English).
