Sandra Kokera holds a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Psychology (2005) and a Master of Science degree in Population Studies (2012), both from the University of Zimbabwe. For her Masters’ degree thesis she focused on contraceptive knowledge, attitudes and practices among high school students in one of the high density suburbs in the capital city, Harare. Sandra has worked for various organisations over the last 12 years in the public sector, the humanitarian sector and research field. For three years she taught undergraduate Psychology students at the University of Zimbabwe before venturing full time into research as an independent consultant. Sandra has a keen interest in health research and working with adolescents. Currently stationed in the Ministry of Health and Child Care, she is coordinating a pilot project exploring the feasibility of linking/integrating the Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) and the Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) services with a gender perspective (transformative masculinities) for adolescents; and inform the approach to delivering the services in a sustainable manner.
