Dr. Muaz Hassan graduated from Faculty of Medicine, National Ribat University, Khartoum, Sudan. He has a postgraduate diploma in Research Methodology from the University of Medical Sciences and Technology where he began an internship in the Reproductive and Child Health Research Unit at the Graduate College. During his internship he participated in a number of the unit’s projects including Innovative Participatory Health Educational Approach ‘IPHE’ which was chosen in March 2012 as one of the top ten educational initiative ideas and solutions improving the health of girls and women by Women Deliver, a global advocacy organization. He is a research fellow at the unit and part of the team conducting the University-community Partnership Project in Kassala State, East Sudan.

Dr. Hassan is a researcher in the Epidemiological Laboratory (Epi-Lab), an organization concerned with TB issues and working in supporting national tuberculosis programs in Sudan and countries of the Region, to reduce the disease burden and suffering attributable to tuberculosis, also the Epi-Lab is a partner of The Stop TB Partnership. He is combining his passion for research with a career in the medical practice working part-time as a medical officer in Police hospital.
