I am Majwala Robert K., Ugandan medical doctor and currently completing a masters in health policy and management at the School of Public Health and Social sciences, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, Dar es Salaam - Tanzania in conjunction with the Centre for International Health, University of Bergen - Norway and the School of Public Health University of Western Cape – South Africa.
I am passionate about maternal and reproductive health and rights especially in the aspects of policy and translation of research findings into policy. I believe this training in sexual and reproductive health research will be invaluable in enabling grasp policy related aspects of sexual reproductive health and translation of research to policy maternal and reproductive health.
After completing my medical degree in 2008, I did a one year residency with Mulago National Referral Hospital – Uganda, then I joined Marie Stopes Uganda as a medical officer providing reproductive health services for people in the rural Northern Ugandan districts of Pader, Agago and Abim on an outreach basis.
I have done short courses in health of displaced persons and sexual reproductive health and rights and HIV organized by Edulink and delivered by Makerere University School of Public Health - Uganda, Moi University School of Public Health - Kenya, Muhimbili University School of Public Health - Tanzania and University Clinic Heidelberg (Germany).
